Julien is the founder of Congo Bleu, a company specializing in the conception, management and production of short and long-term lighting projects.  Julien has been involved with light, art and image since he was 10 years old and holds a masters degree in Business. 

 

Recent productions include

*Artistic direction and technical consulting; Tokyo Festival of Lights

*Artistic direction of a light trail in Namsan Park, Seoul City Hall; Seoul, Korea

Frederic is a graduate of the Political Studies Institute (Lyon, France) and holds a masters degree in Economy and Human Resources.  Currently, he is the Director of Development for The Moment Factory-a cutting-edge multi-media resource in Montreal.

 

He is the former Lighting Plan Manager for the Quartier des spectacles' Partnership, in Montréal and the former General Manager of LUCI (Lighting Urban Community International), an international network of more than 60 cities and more than 20 companies, for which he  organized official events in Europe, China and America.  

 

 


Carol has been Executive Director of the Auction of Washington Wines since 2004.  She has been responsible for growing the event to a three-day weekend of activities; over $11 million has been raised since 2004.

 

Previously she was Executive Director of PONCHO, a fundraising organization for the arts in Seattle, from 1992 – 2003.  Carol is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees at Cornish College of the Arts, a member of Seattle Rotary and currently serves on the Seattle Arts Commission. 

 

 


Electronic "polymediast" Stephen Beck has been sculpting video and multimedia works with electrons since the pre-digital era in 1967. His video performances, compositions, and sculptures have been acquired by both private collectors as well as museums worldwide.

 

Commissions for Beck's prolific range of artistic creations have led to presentations at renowned art events, including ARTEC in Nagoya, Japan, the Kwang Ju Biennale in Korea, and Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria, as well as in exhibits ranging from the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Zagreb, Croatia, to the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive.  The artist recently presented his work at the exhibit, "Conversations with Contemporary Artists," at the Museum of Modern Art New York.

 


Kristi has been actively involved in civic leadership since her return to Seattle in 1997.  She is currently the Vice Chair of the of Benaroya Research Institute Board;        VP, Operations at The Rainier Club and an active member of Seattle 4 Rotary Club.  She founded Artful Gifting in 2000, a retail service devoted to finding creative, thoughtful and useful gifts for corporate clients.

 

Kristi is vitally interested in connections throughout the local area and sees the Northern Lights Northwest initia- tives as an opportunity to unite the arts, science and civic communities. 

 

 


Paula Rees is founder of ForeSeer, a multi-disciplinary firm based in Seattle since 1979. With a background in fine art, graphic design and theater, Paula is known for master planning and building powerful environments. Her reputation has become synonymous with ‘placemaking’ and innovative ‘wayfinding’ techniques.  Most recently she founded a think-tank, KNOWEDGE, where highly experienced environmental designers and specific industry experts are dealing with how communications will positively impact future environments.

 

Paula is a past-president of the international Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD). Her award-winning work is featured in many books and magazines on Graphic Design, Environmental Design and Placemaking Identities.

 

 


Peg Marckworth is the principal of Marckworth Associates

a marketing and identity development firm that works with

individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners.  She

creates resonant, memorable brands that attract attention, engage interest and drive sales. 

 

Peg has a 20+ year career in communications.  She is a former principal of Muir Public Relations, an award-winning company for its public relations and community relations work.  She is a former Washington State lobbyist, social service manager and family therapist.

 

Peg serves on the Boards of The Dunn Gardens and the Association for Creative Business Writing.  She is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees at Billings Middle School.
