Out of death comes new life. The age-old fable of the Phoenix finds foot-holds in the sweep of Earth's endurance.

Nature's embodiment, found in plants whose seeds are released following fires, gives way to human metaphors.

Our own Seattle, rose from the ashes of our Great Fire
of 1889, was rebuilt and rein-vigorated within a year.

Experiencing the cycle of death and life can provide perspective for man of the personal and political challenges we are facing today.  The Journey of the Phoenix is recreated in light using the live plant displays alternately as a canvas and as a verdant overlay.  Visitors will be impelled through the stages of the journey as elements of it are unfurled.
