The creation of Northern Lights Northwest, and its ambitious initiatives, is a reflection of my passion to create innovative projects for Seattle. The joy in creating Emerald City Nights and its component events, is that it utilizes my strategic business, marketing, creative and sales skills to create a better City.
Seattle is ready for a new citywide celebration with an eye on the future. Emerald City Nights is a free, public celebration that honors Seattle's nick-name the emerald city and sustainble green values. It embodies Seattle's pioneering-spirit, creativity, cultural, environmental and community values to create beauty, excite-ment and regional vibrancy.
Imagine a million points of energy-efficient green light creating an emerald city pulsing with new festivities..annually attracting residents and out of town visitors. AURA, BOATLIGHTS and WATERLIGHTS (2011) will visually captivate viewers and play to Seattle's love affair with the water.
The lighting display platform has proven very successful as a cultural and economic driver for many cities around the globe - see slide show. Lighting design, visual arts, theatrical staging and multi-media professionals welcomed the opportunity to work on the AURA event.
My background includes 25 years of executive-level Fortune 500 marketing and business develop-ment and the creation of two businesses heatherloweDESIGN and HL Whitingham. Originally from Westchester County, New York, I have lived in Seattle for 13 years. I am involved with local and national non-profits supporting animals, the environment and people.
